Even though we live in Sonoma County we have never attended our local pride until this year and we had a blast. We were involved in putting on the pride drag brunch, which took place at the local casino (Graton Casino). In addition to that we enjoyed helping out in other ways throughout the weekend. Of course we had some good times and enjoyed celebrating our own gay pride! 🙂
Sonoma County Pride takes place the first weekend of June each year. This event has been going for years throughout Sonoma County, but currently takes place in downtown Santa Rosa in the old courthouse square. There are events starting Friday with an opening party all the way to the pool party on Sunday afternoon.
The parade was on the Saturday morning and is full of local businesses just having fun. The main stage at the festival this year was hosted by Jax from Rupaul’s Drag Race season 15. She showed off her tricks and seriously ate! The headlining performers were Grant Knoche, Reve, and Kiesza. Kiesza had The Twampsons (two drag queens from Reno, NV) join her on stage, which was a really fun way to support other LGBTQ artists. Maria and Shania Twampson slayed and we love them! As the Travel Daddyz we were there hosting the VIP lounge and mingled with all kinds of fun people.
